OVERVIEW

Kathmandu is a beautiful and complex city to explore, diverse and chaotic yet harmonious. Shrines and monuments stand alongside modern developments. Several of these monuments have been listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Some popular ones are the Boudhanath Stupa, Bhaktapur Durbar square and the Pashupatinath temple among many others. It is a busy city with streets lined with vibrant markets. Kathmandu city is a wonderful adventure where you will see the harmony that exists between diverse ethnicities, religion and languages.

ITINERARY

Once you arrive Kathmandu airport, you will be swiftly transferred to the hotel. After you have rested for a while and settled in you will go on a short tour around Thamel, a tourist hub in Kathmandu. After this you can explore the city on your own for a while. Overnight at hotel. 

After breakfast today you will visit Boudhanath, a massive Buddhist Tibetan stupa situated at the heart of Kathmandu. You will find monks, and laymen circumambulating this temple. This practice is known as “Kora”. You will also visit the Pashupatinath temple which hosts Hindu crematorium rituals on the banks of the river. This temple is aesthetically marvelous and is a monument dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a popular holy site for Hindus all over Nepal and South Asia. You will then go to Budhanilkantha temple where you will see the 5 meter long statue of Lord Bishnu sleeping on coils of serpent Shesha in a pool of water. You can take your time and enjoy this monument, and after you will be driven back to your hotel. Overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.

You will visit Bhaktapur today, the epitome of art, architecture and culture in Nepal. You will see in Durbar square, intricately carved buildings and monuments and is rightfully listed in the UNESCO World heritage sites. You will then move on to explore Changunarayan, a Hindu temple of the 5th century. You will hence proceed to Dhulikhel where you will witness the traditional Newari town and get spectacular views of the Himalayas. Drive back to Kathmandu and overnight at hotel. 

Today you will visit the Swayambhunath Stupa which is a Buddhist stupa perched on Nagarjun Hill overlooking the valley. This is commonly known as the monkey temple because of an abundance of monkeys found there. You will then drive to Patan Durbar Square, located right in the center of Lalitpur city. You can visit the ancient royal palace, and continue on admiring the Newar architecture. You will have time to explore the site on your own, before driving back to Kathmandu city. Overnight at a hotel.

Today you will start early on your drive to Pokhara and then check into a hotel. You will visit Davis fall which is one of the main tourist attractions in Pokhara. You will then visit the Gupteshwar cave, which is a gorgeous limestone cave where the Shivalinga temple is located. Then you will head on over to the World Peace Stupa built by the Japanese. From here you will get amazing views of Pokhara valley and the mountain ranges. You will go back to the hotel and stay overnight.

You will get up early today in order to catch the striking sunrise over the Himalayas from Sarangkot. You will then drive back to the hotel for breakfast. Later, you will visit the International Mountaineering Museum, which exhibits everything about the mountains and mountaineering. You can also find some interesting documentaries on display. You will drive back to the hotel. Overnight in Pokhara. 

After breakfast you will start your drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. You will see scenic views of green land and small settlements on the drive. Once checked in you will visit the sacred garden, Maya Devi temple, the pond Puskarni and the Ashoka pillar. After listening to the history of this beautiful and sacred place you will be transferred back to the hotel. Overnight here. 

Today you will drive back to Kathmandu. Once we arrive you will have the rest of the day at your leisure. You can explore the city on your own and revisit some of the places. Do some souvenir shopping in the vibrant shops that stand side to side. Overnight at hotel. 

Depart from Kathmandu International airport to your destination.
